The lack of lull over the summer is continuing with another Monday night of work to be discussed and of course the inevitable bit of banter. We were joined by a new member, Arun, he is by far the youngest member of our group and is a member of the Wadkin RU owners club. Welcome Arun!
We had some competition for the attention of group members in the form of a Chestnut sponsored demonstration by Darren Breeze but we still kept the group numbers up, Pat of course monitored the Chestnut session and has a list of the traitors group members who attended it.....we won't mention any names (Gary and Julian) though of course Pat is in charge this Monday but I'm sure he won't mention it....much!
One of our number was so keen he even joined us from his holiday over in Portugal. Is keen the right word for that I wonder ?
Well, never mind, here is a brief overview of the shenanigans....

Burnsy sent over some photos of a nice lump of Monkey Puzzle that is on it's way to becoming a Moon Jar (Korean Ceramic Form). The Monkey Puzzle came from a garden tree which had over stayed it's welcome and was demolishing the garden wall and threatening to demolish the greenhouse next door.
Len Shield sent over some photos of a goblet made following a demo by Theo Haralampou. The stem is turned using the multiple axis techniques, in this case it was done by moving the piece in the chuck.
Martin Dickinson sent over a photo of some unwelcome workshop visitors. The wasps nest was constructed in no time flat and the little blighters were continuing to make themselves at home until Martin took steps to remove them from his workshop. Of course now Martin has access to his workshop he will be able to send us lots of photos of his latest projects....
Patrick Lindsay sent over some photos of a Holly tree which had to be taken down, it's always sad for a woodturner to see a nice tree come down....well, it is if you don't get any of the wood! In this case Patrick was able to get a few pieces of the Holly and also sent over some photos of the work produced.
As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!
DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!
Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.
Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all, keep on sharing!
Photos are below, as usual click on the little image to see a bigger version:
