Right then, I had imagined things would be quieter over the summer....wrong again!! We had a whole load of images sent through for the session and a mystery timber...Read on for more details:

Ian Forster: Woodturning

Ian Forster having surpassed the magic fifty boxes from different woods is now on track to make the century! As I understand it this latest batch of boxes has the total standing over seventy...right folks one last push, dig out those unusual bits of wood and get them to Ian. You know what .... I feel a photo book coming on!!

Len Shield: WoodturningLen Shield sent over some photos of a couple of projects. Following on from the teapot theme (Laurent Niclot !) Len has produced more items for the table in the shape of some boxes....but take a look at the finials. Nice one.

Kevin Purdy: WoodturningKevin Purdy sent over photos of a piece he made to try out the Japanese Ukibori technique. Mr Pat Carroll had "persuaded" Kevin to try it out ...as always Kevin has pretty much nailed it on his first attempt....well done!

Phil Irons: WoodturningPhil Irons has come up with a mystery timber. The stuff was so hard it actually put a flat on a freshly sharpened gouge within minutes...no mean feat on one of those Vicmarc Vanadis gouges! Lots of suggestions but one that did seem to be common was something called Ipe (https://www.wood-database.com/ipe/). Any spare bits to Mr Forster please !!

Richard Dickson: WoodturningRichard Dickson sent over some photos of .... a teapot! This Laurent Niclot demo seems to have had a massive impact, maybe it's the English and Tea thing! Any way Richard sent these photos in .....another response to Pat's persuasive powers. Part way through the session Richard was joined by Phil Irons who had cycled round to Richards....told his wife he was off for some exercise...a likely story.....

Stephen Mellor: WoodturningStephen Mellor sent over a few photos of pieces he had completed a little while ago. Inspired by another demonstrator we have had the pleasure of watching at Turning North...and for a change this time it wasn't Laurent Niclot!! The pieces were inspired this time by Nick Agar who recently showed us how he makes his signature Viking Sunset Bowls. Nice!

As always we had several contributions from others so, if you showed something, then please do send over some photos you can do it from your mobile phone.... it's not that hard, just ask a teenager for help!!

DON'T FORGET: YOU SHOULD SEND OVER YOUR PHOTOS FOR MONDAY EVENING RIGHT AWAY FOLKS!!

Don't forget you can find the previous Monday Session Reports on the website just click here. You can also look at the images for each week by clicking here and look at the images for each contributor by clicking here.

Once again thanks to all of you for making these evenings such a success, if nobody contributed then none of these evenings could happen. Keep on making and, most important of all,  keep on sharing!
